Blue Light Day A Huge Success

St. Conaire’s NS, in co-operation with local emergency services, organised a Blue Light Day for Thursday, June 2, 2011.  The purpose of this special event was to teach the pupils about the work of the emergency services in the Shannon area.  Taking part were Shannon Fire and Rescue Service, Shannon Gardaí, Irish Coastguard Sikorsky helicopter, Bunratty Search and Rescue and the HSE Emergency Ambulance Service.  The members of each service gave generously of their time to explain their respective roles to the pupils and staff of our school.  It was a hugely valuable service to St. Conaire’s and we wish to thank all the services involved.  The Blue Light Day enabled the pupils to appreciate the wonderful work done by the different services.  We extend a huge thanks to all who helped with the organisation and the running of the event.
