Cumann na mBunscol Finals, June 12 2025

June 12th 2025 will go down in school history as a famous day.  We contested two Cumann na mBunscol finals in Cusack Park, Ennis.  The whole school was tingling with excitement as the teams prepared to travel to Clare GAA’s field of dreams.  The camogie team were first up against Scariff NS.  The girls put up a great fight but were defeated by a skilful opponent.  They showed great skill and no little courage in this match.  They were delighted with getting to the final and we are so proud of them and their management of Ms. Enright and Ms. Kelly and Ms. McMahon.

The second match was against local friends and rivals, St. Senan’s NS.  This was a keenly fought affair right up to the final whistle.  St. Conaire’s were tested by valiant opponents but came out on top in the end.  The game was remarkable for the skill, bravery and commitment shown by both teams.  The game was a delight to watch and all the participants ought to be very proud of themselves. It all bodes well for the future of hurling in Shannon.

A special mention must go to our wonderful supporters who displayed exemplary enthusiasm, positivity and voice throughout.  They prepared as hard as our two teams in making headbands, flags, posters and even learning a new song.  Thanks to the school staff who prepared the children so well and thanks to our parents who always give great support.
