Fifth Class Trip to Carrigerry Church

As this week was Catholic School’s Week, Fr. Tom invited both Mr. O ‘Connell’s and Ms. White’s fifth classes to visit Carrigerry Church and Kilconry churchyard.

The day began with Fr. Tom welcoming the children to Carrigerry Church and after a short prayer service both classes were informed as to the history of the building and the surrounding area. The children then walked to Kilconry churchyard. Fr. Tom spoke to the children about the importance of the old church in the life of St. Conaire. A questionnaire based on the churchyard was then completed by everyone. The day finished with everyone going to the Honk for crisps and light refreshments.

A great time was had by all and a huge thanks must go to Fr. Tom for organising such an enjoyable day.
