Catholic Schools Week 2014
St. Conaire’s marked Catholic Schools Week 2014 with a variety of events. Ms. Hogan’s and Ms. Kelleher’s Senior Infants held a special service for grandparents. A large number of grandparents came to share this special day with us. They saw all the great work done by events and stayed on for tea and biscuits.
Junior Infants and First Classes worked hard on making special crosses for St. Bridget’s Day. Classes from 2nd to 6th used rushes to make their own crosses.
Ms. Cleary’s and Mr. O’Brien’s 5th pupils went to St. Conaire’s Church in Carrygerry and Kilconry Cemetery to mark St. Conaire’s Day on January 28th. They held a special prayer service in the church before making a pilgrimage to Kilconry to learn about the ancient church and its association with our school. They were then treated to refreshments locally.
