Aistear Framework (learning through play) in action

Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework has well and truly settled into St. Conaire’s.  Pupils in Junior and Senior Infants are fully engaged with this programme of learning through co-operative play.  The Board of Management, the Parents’ Association and the school staff have invested time, resources and training in the introduction of Aistear to the school.  Aistear marks early childhood as a time of complete engagement with learning.  This is why the programme is called Aistear, an Irish word which means “journey”.  It sees early childhood learning as the beginning of a child’s lifelong learning journey.  To learn more about Aistear please click on this link:  http://www.ncca.biz/Aistear/.  You can see some of our 2016 Junior Infant pupils keenly involved in Aistear by going to this gallery:  Aistear Gallery
