Learning Support at St. Conaire’s

Children learn in a wide variety of different ways. St. Conaire’s has long-established procedures for the support of individuals as learners, whatever style of learning they have. Our school has a number of teachers assigned to providing support in the areas of Literacy, Numeracy and English as an Additional Language. These teachers, in consultation with parents, provide support to any learners who may require additional assistance. The Learning Support Teachers, in conjunction with class teachers, administer assessments of pupil performance in the areas of Literacy and Numeracy.

Parents are kept fully informed of their child’s progress on a continual basis.

National Educational Psychological Service

Pupils who have special educational needs have access to the services of an educational psychologist who works for the National Educational Psychological Service (NEPS). Parents wishing to enrol a pupil who has special needs are encouraged to contact the school as early as possible so that all necessary arrangements can be made.
