4th classes and Engineer’s Week 2017

Ms. Greene’s and Mr. Glynn’s 4th classes visited Atlantic AirVenture on March 6th 2017 as part of Engineer’s Week.  They were given talks by engineers, technicians and accountants working in the aviation industry.  They learned all about how an aircraft flies, how the different parts of a plane work as well as the importance of safety in aviation.  The pupils were given a guided tour of the Aviation Museum and they all received a simulated flying lesson from a professional pilot.  The visit focused on the promotion of science, technology, engineering and maths to young people with a special emphasis on how these subjects are applied to real life.  Many thanks to all at Atlantic Air Venture and Lufthansa Technik for their support.  You can see photographs of the visit by clicking here.
